Winemaking – The One "special" Piece of Equipment

Hydrometre – The One "special" pieces of winemaking

And 'one important thing that you should consider before starting the first batch of wine.

Before the yeast, you need to know what the potential of alcohol, or density of juice.

If the alcohol potential is too low or the density is too low, you end up with grape juice with little or no alcohol.

To measure this, you must use a hydrometer.

WithHydrometer, you can measure the weight of water compared with water. Basically – do you know if your wine, fruit juice is equal to the weight of water or mild or severe.

You can by them to a variety of sources, both online or in a wine shop.

The use of the hydrometer is briefly described in the accompanying manual said.

But believe me – you need information.

Your hydrometer should read about 1.1 before startingFermentation.

What is there to tell you, because it would solve the sugar in fruit juice, is heavier than water. Sugar increases the density.

Even if the reading is different for different types of wine, will at least start in the right direction.

If the fermentation is complete, your should SG) (density less than 1.00, because alcohol weighs less than water.

In any case, I hope that your experiments gowell. I still remember when I was waiting for the first batch to be ready … quite exciting.

Cheers!

Mike
